Pickup is available from your hotel in San José to visit the province of Cartago and the Irazu Volcano. The journey includes views of local flora and fauna.

The Irazu Volcano stands at 3,432 meters (11,259 feet) and is the most active volcano in Costa Rica. Visitors will explore one of its craters and view a green lake, with panoramic views of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Afterward, the tour will proceed to Cartago, which was the old capital of Costa Rica. A visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels will be included, followed by a stop at the Lankester Gardens, home to over 800 species of orchids and plants.

A traditional Costa Rican meal will be offered, comprising rice, beans, salad, a choice of meat (chicken, fish, or pork), dessert, and a refreshing drink.

The tour continues to the Orosi and Ujarrás Valley, surrounded by mountains and coffee and sugar cane farms. Historical events, including pirate attacks and the establishment of the Franciscan Order, are noted for this region.

The total duration of the tour is 11.5 hours, after which guests will be returned to their hotels in San José.
