Explore Costa Rica's animal world in Tortuguero National Park, home to the green turtle and other protected species, such as sloths.
Tortuguero National Park Trip
After hotel pickup, we will depart with a natural scientist guide to Braulio Carrillo National Park, featuring a vast forest and waterfalls. At over 3,000 metres high, the Barva Volcano offers stunning views. During the tour, we will observe over 135 animal species in the park.
A typical Costa Rican breakfast will include eggs and the well-known gallo pinto (beans and rice), along with juice and coffee.
Next, we will explore the banana plantations, learning about the growth and exportation of one of Costa Rica's key products alongside chocolate and coffee.
We will then board a boat to sail into Tortuguero National Park, known for its rich biological diversity. The park's main attraction is the green turtle, alongside other animals like the manatee, the sea cow, and crocodiles. The park also shelters endangered mammals, including sloths, monkeys, and white-nosed coati.
Lunch will feature a buffet-style menu with options for salads, meat, garnish, dessert, coffee, and drinks.
Afterward, we will visit the village of Tortuguero, a pedestrian and cycling area, with popular bars and restaurants. We will then return to your hotel in San José at the trip's conclusion.
