Explore Costa Rica's animal world in Tortuguero National Park, home to the green turtle and other protected species, including sloths.
Tortuguero National Park Trip
After hotel pickup, a natural scientist guide will take us to Braulio Carrillo National Park, known for its extensive forests and waterfalls. We will also view the breathtaking Barva Volcano, which rises over 3,000 meters and is home to over 135 animal species.
A typical Costa Rican breakfast will be provided, including eggs, gallo pinto (beans and rice), juice, and coffee.
Next, we will visit the banana plantations to learn about the growth and exportation process of key Costa Rican products, alongside chocolate and coffee.
Following this, we will board a boat to sail to Tortuguero National Park, recognized for its rich biological diversity. The park features the green turtle, manatees, sea cows, and crocodiles, as well as endangered mammals such as sloths, monkeys, and white-nosed coatis.
At lunchtime, a traditional buffet-style menu will be served, offering salads, meat, garnishes, dessert, coffee, and drinks.
After lunch, we will visit the village of Tortuguero, which allows only cycling and walking, featuring bars and restaurants popular among the residents. We will then return to your hotel in San José.
