On this excursion, we'll visit the Turrialba and Irazú volcanos and explore both national parks.
Description
In Costa Rica, visiting at least one volcano is essential. The country features notable craters offering stunning landscapes. We will pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time for a trip to the Turrialba and Irazú volcanos.
We will first go to the Irazú Volcano National Park in Cartago. For over an hour, we'll hike around the perimeter of the crater, which is one of the highest volcanos in Costa Rica. Irazú comprises 5 craters and is surrounded by low vegetation blending with the mountainous environment. We will ascent to the top, and on a clear day, views of both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans are visible.
After hiking, there will be an hour of free time to enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. Following lunch, we will proceed to the Turrialba Volcano National Park, known for being one of the most active volcanos in the country. While we will not reach the crater's summit, we will walk around its perimeter to observe the typical volcanic terrain and, weather permitting, various waterfalls formed within its forests.
The tour lasts approximately 8 to 10 hours, concluding with drop-off at your hotel.
