El Yunque National Rainforest Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Juan and set off for the eastern zone of the Island. For 40 minutes, we'll delve into the scenery until we reach El Yunque National Rainforest.
Once there, we'll pass a large mudslide caused by hurricane Maria in 2017, and afterwards, we'll continue climbing to the highest peak in the rainforest. At 3,510 feet (1,070 meters) high, the Toro Peak will provide you with views of the Caribbean Sea.
For 25 minutes we'll walk along rainforest paths and if you're lucky, we'll spot a red-tailed hawk, a species native to the area. During the walk, you will learn about the flora and fauna that flourishes in this environment.
At the end of the route await the waterfalls and natural pools of El Yunque. You can take a refreshing dip, and the daring can even jump from the waterfall.
Next, we'll head to a local restaurant for a typical lunch and some time to relax on the beach.
Finally, we'll end the tour by taking you back to your hotel, arriving 4 to 5 hours later.
