Hiking in San Lorenzo
When making your booking, you'll be able to opt for a 3 or 7-hour route. In both cases, we'll meet up at your chosen time on Calle Juan Carlos Dávalos.
3-Hour Route
The hike begins across the colonial town of San Lorenzo, reaching its outskirts and the ravine of the same name. We will follow trails along the San Lorenzo River, ascending to different viewpoints. The route offers panoramic views of Salta, which is only a few miles away.
We'll explore the yungas of San Lorenzo, an Andean forest, and observe endemic trees such as cockspur coral trees, walnut trees, myrtles, and alders. At the highest point, at 5,900 feet (1,800 metres) above sea level, you can view the entire Lerma Valley to the south and the Andean foothills to the north and west. We'll return to the starting point after 3 hours.
Schedule: every day at 10 am and 3 pm.
7-Hour Route
This high-difficulty route covers a distance of 12 miles (19 kilometres) and reaches an altitude of 7,870 feet (2,400 metres) above sea level.
The hike begins with an ascent through the trails of the San Lorenzo ravine to the Eastern Cordillera.
