Forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life by going hiking in San Lorenzo with us. You'll admire the best views of Salta, the Andean foothills and Lerma Valley.
Hiking in San Lorenzo
When making your booking, you'll be able to opt for a 3 or 7-hour route. In both cases, we'll meet up at your chosen time on Calle Juan Carlos Dávalos.
3-Hour Route
We'll begin by traversing the colonial town of San Lorenzo and proceed to its outskirts, reaching the ravine of the same name. The route will follow the trails alongside the San Lorenzo River. As we navigate the slopes, we'll access various viewpoints offering panoramic views of Salta.
During the tour, we’ll explore the unique biome of the yungas of San Lorenzo and observe endemic trees including cockspur coral trees, walnut trees, myrtles, and alders. At the highest point, 5,900 feet (1,800 meters) above sea level, you can view the entire Lerma Valley and the Andean foothills.
We'll then return to our starting point after 3 hours of walking.
Schedule: every day at 10 am and 3 pm.
7-Hour Route
This high-difficulty route covers a distance of 12 miles (19 kilometers) and reaches an altitude of 7,870 feet (2,400 meters) above sea level. The journey starts with an ascent through the trails of the San Lorenzo ravine towards the Eastern Cordillera, featuring trees typical of the Selva Montana, like cockspur coral trees, walnut trees, laurels, and cedars.
You will also see lush ferns and various epiphytes and climbing plants characteristic of this biome, along with views of the Lerma Valley and the Eastern Cordillera.
Schedule: every day at 10 am.
