Tamul Waterfall & Cueva del Agua Excursion

Visit the largest waterfall in the state of San Luis Potosí on this excursion to the Tamul waterfall. We'll take a boat ride on the Tampaón River and you'll be able to swim in the famous Cueva del Agua. The perfect way to connect with the nature of the Huasteca Potosina region!

Tamul Waterfall & Cueva del Agua Excursion

After picking you up at your hotel in San Luis Potosí at 6:45 am, we'll travel by minibus to Tanchachín, a small town about four hours away.

Once we arrive, we'll head to the Tampaón River and board a boat for a ride to the Tamul waterfall, where we will admire the beauty of the surrounding area.

We will view the waterfalls of Potosí from the base; the waterfall exceeds 100 meters (328 feet) in height. During this stop, we will discuss its formation and the legends associated with this natural monument. The term 'Tamul' translates to 'place of pitchers' in the Teenek language.

The boat ride will bring us to the entrance of Cueva del Agua, where you will have an hour of free time to swim in the cave, which reaches 45 meters (147 feet) in depth and features sapphire blue waters.

We will then return to dry land and provide another hour for lunch at a restaurant in Tanchachín before heading back to San Luis Potosí. The excursion will conclude at 8 pm, returning you to your hotel.
