Tamul Waterfall & Cueva del Agua Excursion

Visit the largest waterfall in the state of San Luis Potosí on this excursion to the Tamul waterfall. We'll take a boat ride on the Tampaón River and you'll be able to swim in the famous Cueva del Agua.

Tamul Waterfall & Cueva del Agua Excursion

After picking you up at your hotel in San Luis Potosí at 6:45 am, we'll travel by minibus to Tanchachín, a small town about four hours away.

Upon arrival, we will proceed to the Tampaón River to board a boat for a ride to the Tamul waterfall. During this journey, you will enjoy the surrounding vegetation and the songs of local birds.

At the base of the waterfall, which exceeds 100 meters (328 feet) in height, you will have the opportunity to take photos. An explanation of the formation of the waterfalls and the legends associated with this natural site will be provided, including the meaning of 'Tamul' in the Teenek language, which is 'place of pitchers'.

The boat ride will continue to the Cueva del Agua, where you will have an hour of free time to swim in this rocky cave with a depth of 45 meters (147 feet). The waters are known for their intense sapphire blue color.

After swimming, you will return to land and have another hour for lunch at a restaurant in Tanchachín before heading back to San Luis Potosí. The excursion concludes at 8 pm, returning you to your hotel.
