La Carolina Trip

At 7:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Potrero de los Funes to head to the northern part of the Argentine province of San Luis.

After crossing the Pancanta Valley, we will arrive at La Carolina, located at the foot of Tomolasta Hill, named after Spanish King Carlos III. During this monarch's reign in the 18th century, several gold mines were developed in the area.

We will explore the legends surrounding the quest for gold and learn how the Spanish transported nuggets to Chile for processing at the Santiago Mint.

The tour includes a visit to an old gold mine in La Carolina. Visitors will wear miner's gear and navigate a low-difficulty route through the tunnels.

Next, we will visit the prehistoric Inti Huasi cave on the outskirts of La Carolina to uncover its secrets and learn about the early hominids that inhabited the caves.

At the conclusion of the cave tour, we will return to La Carolina, where you will have one hour free for lunch. After lunch, we will return to your hotel in Potrero de los Funes, with an expected arrival time of 2:30 pm.
