Description

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at your hotel in San Martín de los Andes and drive to the Colorado Volcano, located 30 minutes away.

Upon arrival at the base of the crater, we will begin a medium-difficulty hiking route lasting a total of 5 hours, divided into stages along an 8.5-kilometre (5.2-mile) trail with an 800-metre (2625-foot) vertical climb.

During the hike, we will traverse a Patagonian forest and a rocky area, continuing towards the summit of the Colorado Volcano, which stands at an altitude of 1742 metres (5700 feet). The mountain’s reddish hue is attributed to an ancient lava flow visible during the ascent.

At the summit, we will enjoy views of the south face of the Lanín volcano and the valleys of the Lácar and Lolog lakes. You will have time to eat some of the food you have brought along while taking in the panoramic scenery.

Finally, we will return to the starting point of the trail, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to San Martín de los Andes. We plan to arrive at your hotel approximately 6 hours after pickup.
