Join us to explore two of the breathtaking natural wonders of Neuquén province on this excursion: the Huechulafquen Lake and Lanín Volcano!

Day Trip to Huechulafquen Lake & Lanín Volcano

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in downtown San Martin de los Andes and set off to explore Huechulafquen Lake and Lanin Volcano in Lanin National Park.

Our first stop will be at the mouth of the Chimehuín River, a renowned fishing spot and source of Huechulafquen Lake, which, along with Paimún and Epulafquen lakes, forms an important lake system.

Next, we'll visit the town of Junín de los Andes to explore the Nuestra Señora de las Nieves church and Mapuche cultural center. Then, we'll continue through Lanin National Park until we reach Lake Huechulafquen, the largest lake in the area.

At Puerto Canoa, you can enjoy a 1.5-hour catamaran ride on Huechulafquen and Epulafquen lakes (ticket not included) or simply take in the scenic beauty. You'll witness a stunning 6 km (3.73-mile) lava river from the Achen Niyeu volcano and a view of the snow-capped summit of Lanin Volcano.

We will also visit Lake Paimún, known for its tranquil surroundings. On our return, we will stop at the Mapuche communities to learn about their lifestyle.

We will return to San Martin de los Andes around 7 pm and drop you back off at your hotel.
