Atotonilco Sanctuary + Vineyard Tour

Do you want to discover the American Sistine Chapel? Join this trip to the Sanctuary of Atonilco, where you'll also visit a vineyard and take part in a wine tasting.

Highlights

At the scheduled time, the group will convene on Calle Relox and be transported by minibus to the Sanctuary of Atonilco, approximately a 20-minute journey to this World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, you'll explore the historical significance of the temple, learning about its origins linked to the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and Mexican Independence. You'll also see the frescos in the popular Mexican baroque style. After the guided tour, you'll have a chance to enjoy local gorditas or quesadillas with a drink in Atotonilco town.

Afterward, you'll travel by minibus to a vineyard in Guanajuato to discover the secrets of local wine production. The visit includes a tour of the facility and a wine tasting featuring 3 varieties. At the end of the 4-hour trip, you'll return to your starting point.
