Argentina Independence Tour
Your journey begins with a pickup at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Tucumán. The first stop is the Miguel Lillo Natural Science Museum (entrance fee not included), where you will explore the rich nature and geography of the province of Tucumán. The museum showcases an array of impressive dinosaur fossils discovered in the area, along with information about various animals originally native to Argentina that now inhabit other parts of the world.
Next, we will visit the Casa Belgraniana, the historical home of General Manuel Belgrano. This elegant building provides insights into the battle of Tucumán, a significant event in the Argentina's War of Independence that General Belgrano was part of. You'll learn about the important political shifts that arose from this armed conflict during your visit.
Once we conclude our exploration of the Casa Belgraniana, we will continue to Ingenio San Pablo to uncover its sugar production heritage, followed by a visit to Villa Nougués and the picturesque San Javier Hill. At the hilltop, you'll be greeted by the impressive Cristo Bendicente statue, offering stunning panoramic views of San Miguel de Tucumán.
The tour proceeds through the Yerba Buena residential area, with a stop to savor delightful local empanadas paired with a glass of wine. As we head back to the city, a panoramic tour of the residential district of Yerba Buena and the vicinity of 9 July Park and the Casa Obispo Colombres Sugar Industry Museum will be included.
We will culminate the tour at the beautiful Plaza de la Independencia, where a walking tour will allow you to appreciate the remarkable monumental heritage surrounding it: the Government House, the Cathedral, and notably, the Casa Histórica (Historical House), where Argentina's Independence was declared on July 9, 1816.
The tour concludes at 3:30 PM, returning you directly to your hotel.
