Argentina Independence Tour

2016 marked the Bicentennial celebrations of Argentina's Independence, declared in Tucumán. Join us for the Independence Tour of San Miguel de Tucumán to explore this significant historical event.

Argentina Independence Tour

The tour begins with a pick-up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Tucumán. We will visit the Miguel Lillo Natural Science Museum (entrance fee not included) to learn about local nature and geography, including dinosaur fossils and native animals of Argentina.

Next, we will explore the Casa Belgraniana, the home of General Manuel Belgrano, to learn about the battle of Tucumán, a pivotal event in Argentina's War of Independence that led to significant political changes.

We will then proceed to Ingenio San Pablo to discover its sugar-producing tradition, followed by visits to Villa Nougués and San Javier Hill, where you will be greeted by the Cristo Bendicente sculpture and panoramic views of San Miguel de Tucumán.

The tour includes a tasting of local empanadas with a glass of wine and a panoramic tour of the Yerba Buena residential area and surrounding sites, including 9 July Park and the Casa Obispo Colombres Sugar Industry Museum.

It concludes at the Plaza de la Independencia with a walking tour of the impressive surrounding landmarks, such as the Government House, the Cathedral, and the Casa Histórica, where Independence was proclaimed on July 9, 1816. The tour ends at 3:30 PM back at your hotel.

The tour offers pick-up and drop-off at hotels in central San Miguel de Tucumán. If you are staying elsewhere, the pick-up point is at Ente de Tucumán Turismo, 484 Avenida 24 de Septiembre.
