On this excursion from Tucumán, we'll visit the Jesuit ruins of San José de Lules and the town of Simoca, known for its Saturday fair, where regional products are available for purchase.
Tour Highlights
At the scheduled time, we'll depart from your hotel in Tucumán and drive for 30 minutes to reach the ruins of San José de Lules, where we will explore the legacy of the Society of Jesus.
During our visit to this ancient site, recognized as a National Monument, we'll learn about the first Jesuit school in Argentina and the area where sugar cane was first cultivated in South America.
After the Jesuit ruins, we'll proceed to Simoca. Here, we'll explore the famous Saturday fair, featuring various rosquillas, empanadillas, and other regional products. The stalls at the Simoca Fair also showcase a variety of handicrafts.
Throughout the market, we'll observe the barter system in action, where items like a dozen eggs or a piglet serve as currency for trading.
After visiting the Simoca Fair, we will return to your hotel in Tucumán, arriving approximately 5 hours after pickup.
