On this excursion from Tucumán, we'll visit the Jesuit ruins of San José de Lules and the town of Simoca, famous for its Saturday fair, where you'll find regional products.
Tour Highlights
At the designated time, we'll depart from your hotel in Tucumán to the outskirts. After a 30-minute drive, we'll arrive at the ruins of San José de Lules, where we will learn about the legacy of the Society of Jesus.
During the visit to this ancient complex, declared a National Monument, we will explore the history of the first Jesuit school in Argentina and see the location where sugar cane was first cultivated in this region of South America.
After the Jesuit ruins, we'll proceed to Simoca. There, we will experience the famous Saturday fair, which features various rosquillas, empanadillas, and other regional products. The Simoca Fair also showcases numerous handicrafts.
While at the fair, we will observe the barter system, where items like a dozen eggs or a piglet can be used for exchanging various products.
We will return to your hotel in Tucumán, arriving 5 hours after pickup.
