Tour Highlights

We will depart from your hotel in Tucumán at the scheduled time for a 30-minute drive to the ruins of San José de Lules. Here, we will explore the legacy of the Society of Jesus and learn about the history of the first Jesuit school in Argentina. This site, a National Monument, is also where sugar cane was first cultivated in the region.

Next, we will visit Simoca and experience its renowned Saturday fair. Attendees can purchase items such as rosquillas, empanadillas, and a range of regional products. Additionally, the fair offers a variety of handicrafts.

During the visit, we will observe the barter system in action, where items like a dozen eggs or a piglet are used as currency for exchanging goods.
