On this excursion from Tucumán, we'll visit the Jesuit ruins of San José de Lules and the town of Simoca, known for its Saturday fair.
Tour Highlights
At the designated time, we'll depart from your hotel in Tucumán and drive for 30 minutes to reach the ruins of San José de Lules, where we will explore the legacy of the Society of Jesus.
This ancient complex, declared a National Monument, is home to Argentina's first Jesuit school and the site where sugar cane was first cultivated in South America.
After visiting the Jesuit ruins, we will proceed to Simoca. There, we will experience the Saturday fair, featuring various types of rosquillas, empanadillas, and other regional products, along with a selection of handicrafts.
During our time at the fair, we will observe the barter system in action, where goods such as a dozen eggs or a piglet serve as currency for exchanging products.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Tucumán, arriving about 5 hours after pickup.
