Pucará de Aconquija Hiking Tour

On this trekking route along the Pucará de Aconquija, you'll discover the archeological sites of the Argentinian Camino del Inca and take in the sights of the Nevados del Aconquija.

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán to begin our day trip to the Aconquija National Park. We will pass the vast sugar cane, lemon, and blueberry plantations.

Passing through Aconquija National Park, we'll admire the lush vegetation of the Yungas Forest. Our first stop will be at the Samay Cochuna camping site, followed by a visit to the La Banderita lookout for views of the forest and peaks of the Nevados del Aconquija.

3 and a half hours after pickup, we'll arrive at the Valle de Las Estancias, take a short break, and then start our trek along the Camino del Inca Argentino.

After 40 minutes of hiking, we will reach the Inca site of Pucará del Aconquija. Here, we'll explore its kallankas, kolcas, walls, and defensive towers. Lunch will include a sandwich and a piece of fruit.

After our 2-kilometer journey, reaching a maximum altitude of 7217 feet (2200 m), we will return to San Miguel de Tucumán. About 12 hours after pickup, we'll drop you off at your hotel.
