Have you heard of the Calchaquíes Valleys? We'll explore its sites on this tour from Tucumán to San José, a town in the Province of Catamarca where we'll join two craft workshops.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán. After leaving the city behind, we'll take Route 307 towards the famous Calchaquíes Valleys, one of the most beautiful areas in the northwest of Argentina!

Firstly, we'll cross the Quebrada de Los Sosa before passing through the town of Tafí del Valle. From there, we'll follow the route to the small town of Amaicha del Valle, where we'll make a brief stop to stretch our legs and visit its picturesque San Martín square.

After this stop, we'll continue our journey towards the province of Catamarca, where the small rural town of San José awaits us. The municipality, located in the southern section of the Calchaquí Valley, is surrounded by the Nevados de Aconquija and the Sierras de Quilmes mountains.

In addition to contemplating the landscapes of the village, we'll also learn about the rural life of San José by taking part in 2 craft workshops. These activities will consist of: basket making, preparation of regional sweets, weaving class, leather workshop, spice grinding, goat milking or native songs with drums.

At the end of the 2 workshops, you can have lunch at your own expense in San José. Afterwards, we'll start our return journey with a short stop in Tafí del Valle to go to the toilet or have a coffee.

Finally, we'll end this tour back at your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán, arriving approximately 11 hours after initial pickup.
