Tafi del Valle, Cafayate and Quilmes Trip

Pickup is at your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán at 7:30 am. The tour begins with a visit to the ruins of San José de Lules, where we will explore sites related to the evangelization of the Lules Indians.

Next, we proceed to the Los Menhires archaeological reserve, home to over 50 megaliths, each with its own story. Our journey continues to Tafi del Valle, a village located between the Calchaqui valley and the Chacopampa plain. You will have free time for lunch and to explore the streets, including the 18th century Conjunto Jesuítico de La Banda.

We then ascend the Cumbres Calchaquíes mountains, which are part of the Andes, leading us to the ruins of Quilmes, where we will learn about the resistance of the Calchaqui Indians against the Spanish.

The tour includes a one-hour drive to Cafayate, known for its vineyards. Here, we will explore the historic center and visit a winery for a wine tasting, focusing on the cultivation of the Torrontés grape.

We leave Cafayate at 4 pm to return to San Miguel de Tucumán, concluding the tour.
