Discover who the Calchaqui Indians were on a trip to Tafi del Valle, Quilmes ruins, and Cafayate from Tucuman, providing insight into Argentina's hidden gems.

Tafi del Valle, Cafayate and Quilmes Trip

Pickup is at your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán at 7:30 am. The journey begins with a visit to the ruins of San José de Lules to explore the evangelization sites of the Lules Indians.

Next, we visit the Los Menhires archaeological reserve, home to over 50 megaliths, each narrating its own story. We then arrive at Tafi del Valle, a village situated between the Calchaqui valley and Chacopampa plain.

Guests will have free time for lunch or to explore the area and visit the 18th century Conjunto Jesuítico de La Banda. Following this, we ascend the Cumbres Calchaquíes mountains, part of the Andes, leading to the ruins of Quilmes, where we learn about the Calchaqui Indians’ resistance against Spanish conquerors.

A one-hour drive takes us to Cafayate, known for its vineyards. Here, we will explore the historic center and visit a winery for a wine tasting, famous for the Torrontés grape.

At 4 pm, we depart Cafayate and return to San Miguel de Tucumán, concluding the experience.
