Day Trip to Cantona & Alchichica Lagoon

After picking you up at 9 am from your hotel in Cholula, we will take you to the Cantona archaeological site. Following approximately a two-hour drive, we will reach our first destination on this private day trip.

We will enter what was once a great fortified city, touring its narrow streets, squares, buildings, and numerous ball game courts. The site is known for over 300 obsidian workshops where local artisans produced various items and controlled the trade routes of the central highlands.

At the conclusion of our tour of Cantona ruins, we will take you to Tepeyahualco at 1 pm, where you will have free time for lunch. We will then proceed to one of the most significant alkaline lakes in Mexico.

In just half an hour, we will reach the Alchichica Lagoon, a unique body of water with stromatolites. We will discuss its volcanic formation and explore local legends associated with the site.

Finally, we will return to Cholula, arriving at your hotel by 5 pm.
