Day Trip to Cantona & Alchichica Lagoon

After picking you up at 9 am from your hotel in Cholula, we'll take you to the Cantona archaeological site. After approximately a two hour drive, we'll reach the first destination of our private day trip.

We'll enter what was once a great fortified city and tour its narrow streets, squares, buildings, and dozens of ball game courts, trying to imagine life in this pre-Columbian civilization. Notably, there were more than 300 obsidian workshops in Cantona, where local artisans produced various items and controlled trade routes in the central highlands.

At the end of our tour of Cantona ruins, we'll take you to Tepeyahualco at 1 pm, where you'll have free time for lunch. We will then depart for Alchichica Lagoon, a significant alkaline lake in Mexico.

In just half an hour, we'll arrive at the Alchichica Lagoon, known for its remarkable natural structures called stromatolites. You'll learn about its volcanic formation and local legends surrounding the site.

Finally, we'll return to Cholula, arriving at your hotel by 5 pm.
