Trekking in the Izta-Popo National Park
We will pick you up at 9 am from your hotel in Cholula and board the minibus to Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park, passing through the Paso de Cortés mountain pass. We'll stop at the La Joyita car park, where our hiking route begins.
The trail starts at an altitude of 3,900 meters, following the portillos route, a 4-kilometer path through snowy landscapes, coniferous forests, and arid areas. Here, we may observe local wildlife, including coatis, deer, coyotes, and badgers.
In the distance, Iztaccihuatl and Popocatépetl, two significant volcanoes, will appear. You'll learn about the legend that connects them during the hike.
After four hours of exploration, the trek ends back at the starting point. We will return to the hotels in Cholula, arriving around 5 pm.
