Activity Overview
We will commence this adventure at the scheduled time by picking you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. Our journey to Cerro Toco Volcano takes about an hour, during which we will take a brief stop at a store for you to purchase water and snacks.
Before we start the ascent, we'll pause for a 1 km (0.6 mi) acclimatization walk at an elevation of 3,100 m (10,170 ft). Afterward, we'll proceed to the base of the Cerro Toco Volcano, situated approximately 5,100 m (16,732 ft) above sea level. Are you prepared to begin?
Over the next two hours, we’ll ascend to the summit, taking necessary breaks to catch our breath, hydrate, and admire the spectacular panoramic views of the Andean landscape. Don’t forget to have your camera at the ready!
Upon reaching the base of the volcano again, we will rest for 45 minutes before embarking on our return trip to San Pedro de Atacama. We will conclude our journey with a fond farewell back at your hotel after 7-8 hours together.
