Cerro Toco Volcano Hike

Join us on this hiking tour of Cerro Toco, a dormant volcano that offers stunning views from its summit at 5100 metres (16,732 feet), including sights of the Licancabur Volcano and the Blanco and Verde Lagoons.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama to start the adventure. The journey to Cerro Toco Volcano takes about one hour, with a stop at a shop for water and snacks.

Before the hike, we'll acclimatise with a 1-kilometre (0.6-mile) walk at an altitude of 3100 metres (10,170 feet). Following this, we will head to the base of the Cerro Toco Volcano, situated at 5100 metres (16,732 feet) above sea level.

The ascent to the summit will take approximately 2 hours, with breaks for hydration and enjoying panoramic views of the Andean landscape. Remember to bring your camera!

After reaching the base of the volcano and resting for 45 minutes, we'll begin the return journey to San Pedro de Atacama. We'll conclude our tour with farewells at your hotel after a total of 5 hours together.
