Rainbow Valley Day Trip

At the indicated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama and head south towards the foothills of the Cordillera Domeyko mountain range, where you will enjoy stunning desert landscapes and the peaks of the Andes.

The first stop will be the archaeological site of Yerbas Buenas, which features ancient rock art from various cultures that once inhabited the region. Before this, a breakfast will be provided. You will walk through the pre-Colombian site and view petroglyphs carved onto the rocks, depicting animals, daily life scenes, and constellations.

Next, we will proceed to Rainbow Valley, passing through the town of Matancilla. Here, you'll see colourful rocks formed by minerals and unique rock formations shaped by wind erosion over millions of years.

Finally, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama, concluding the tour after approximately 4.5 to 6 hours.

This activity includes pickup from hotels located within a radius of up to 5 kilometres or 3.1 miles from the centre of San Pedro de Atacama. Depending on availability, pickups may be possible from hotels closer (maximum 2 kilometres or 1.2 miles) or further away (maximum 5 kilometres or 3.1 miles). Please specify accommodations located in the historic centre of San Pedro. Note that pickups from nearby towns such as Ayllus, Solor, Cucuter and Toconao are not included.

If staying in more remote areas, you will need to go to an alternative meeting point detailed in your booking voucher.
