Salt Mountains Day Trip

At the agreed time, we'll meet at unit 2, 429B Tocopilla Street in San Pedro de Atacama. From there, we'll travel to one of the most spectacular places in Moon Valley: The Salt Mountains (“Cordillera de la Sal” in Spanish).

Upon arrival, we'll admire the geological features of the Salt Mountains. You'll observe how wind erosion has shaped a unique landscape with sand dunes and ancient salt rivers.

As we explore this area, we'll also see the remnants of an ancient means of transport, the Magic Bus, and discuss its significance in one of the driest deserts in the world.

To conclude our trip, we'll watch a sunset over the Salt Mountains, witnessing how the sunset illuminates the desert. A snack will be provided, including dried fruits, biscuits, juices, a bag of crisps, and a drink of your choice between beer and pisco sour.

After enjoying the Andean sunset, we'll return to San Pedro de Atacama, dropping you off at the small square in the center of town or another central point following 4 hours of activity.
