Discover one of the largest geyser fields in the world at El Tatio on our trip from San Pedro de Atacama. Also visit the Machuca Lagoon, known for its bird variety.

Tatio Geysers & Machuca Lagoon Trip

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama and head to the main geothermal activity site in Chile. After approximately 1.5 hours, we will arrive at El Tatio geyser field, located at more than 4,000 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level.

El Tatio is a popular location in the Atacama Desert where you will see steam eruptions from over 100 small craters. This site is the third-largest geyser field worldwide. We will visit thermal pools and enjoy breakfast while observing the geothermal activity at dawn.

After breakfast, we will proceed to the Machuca Lagoon, a wetland home to various highland birds, including flamingos and ducks.

Finally, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama, concluding this 7 to 7.5-hour excursion and dropping you off in the town center.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels within a radius of up to 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from the San Pedro de Atacama center. Depending on availability, we may pick you up from hotels closer (maximum radius of 2 kilometers or 1.2 miles) or farther (maximum radius of 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles). We recommend indicating your accommodation in the historic center. Note that pickups from nearby towns such as Ayllus, Solor, Cucuter, and Toconao are not included.

If you are staying in remote areas, you will need to go to an alternative meeting point as detailed on your booking voucher.
