Discover one of the largest geyser fields in the world at El Tatio on our trip from San Pedro de Atacama. The journey includes a visit to the Machuca Lagoon, known for its variety of birds.

Tatio Geysers & Machuca Lagoon Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama at the scheduled time and travel for about an hour and a half to El Tatio geyser field, located over 4,000 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level. El Tatio is one of the most visited sites in the Atacama desert, featuring constant steam eruptions from over 100 small craters. It is the third-largest geyser field globally. We will also visit thermal pools and enjoy breakfast while observing the geothermal activity at dawn.

After breakfast, we will proceed to Machuca Lagoon, where we will explore a wetland populated by highland birds such as flamingos and ducks. Finally, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama, concluding this 7 to 7.5-hour excursion with a drop-off in the town center.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels within a radius of up to 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from the center of San Pedro de Atacama. Depending on availability, pickups may be accommodated from locations closer (2 kilometers or 1.2 miles) or further away (5 kilometers or 3.1 miles), so it is recommended to indicate accommodations in the historic center. Note that pickups in nearby towns such as Ayllus, Solor, Cucuter, and Toconao are not included.

If staying in more remote areas, you will need to go to an alternative meeting point detailed in your booking voucher.
