Embark on a journey to uncover the coastal landscapes of the Gran Concepción region, featuring the Biobío River mouth and a captivating sunset over the Lenga wetland.
Tour Highlights
At 9:30 am, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Concepción, starting our tour showcasing the main coastal attractions of the metropolitan area.
Our route through Gran Concepción leads us across the Biobío River, a historical boundary between the Reino de España and the Mapuche territories. On the opposite bank lies San Pedro de la Paz, where the lagoon hosts a community of black-necked swans.
Next is the Hualpén Peninsula, home to the Pedro del Río Zañartu Museum-Park, near the Biobío River's estuary. We will explore the exhibits and walk along the park's trails, which follow the Pacific Ocean through the Nature Sanctuary.
Continuing our exploration, we will visit Talcahuano. A break at the Tumbes Peninsula Cove will offer you an hour for lunch, with local restaurants providing views of Quiriquina Island and Concepción Bay.
After lunch, we'll visit the Talcahuano naval base to explore the historic Monitor Huáscar, a battleship significant to the Pacific War. Following this excursion, we will return to Concepción for a sunset over the Lenga wetland. The day concludes around 5:30 pm when we drop you back at your hotel.
