Embark on a journey to uncover the coastal landscapes of the Gran Concepción region, featuring the Biobío River mouth and a captivating sunset over the Lenga wetland.
Tour Highlights
At 9:30 am, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Concepción to start a tour highlighting the main coastal attractions of the metropolitan area.
Our route traverses Gran Concepción, which includes the city and nearby towns, leading us across the Biobío River—historically significant as a boundary between the Reino de España and Mapuche territories. On the opposite bank lies San Pedro de la Paz, home to a community of black-necked swans in its lagoon.
The next destination is the Hualpén Peninsula, where the Pedro del Río Zañartu Museum-Park is situated near the estuary. Here, we will explore exhibits about this environment and walk along trails that follow the Pacific Ocean through the Nature Sanctuary.
We will then visit Talcahuano, with a break at the Tumbes Peninsula Cove for lunch. Local restaurants provide panoramic views of Quiriquina Island and Concepción Bay.
After lunch, we will visit the Talcahuano naval base to explore the historic Monitor Huáscar, a battleship significant in the Pacific War. The day concludes around 5:30 pm when we return you to your hotel after enjoying a sunset over the Lenga wetland.
