Manialtepec Lagoon Day Trip
The tour begins with hotel pickup in Puerto Escondido. We will travel to Bacocho and enjoy views of the untouched beach from a nearby viewpoint.
Next, we will board a boat to explore Manialtepec Lagoon, home to iguanas, herons, ducks, and parrots, within one of the world's essential wetland regions.
During the tour, our guide will share the mysteries and legends of the lagoon, including the story of "Rooster Island" (la Isla del Gallo), named for the legend of a rooster calling for its deceased owner every December 24th.
We will proceed to the junction where the Manialtepec River meets the sea to enjoy scenic views. The tour concludes at Suelo Port, allowing free time for exploring the seafront or swimming in the Pacific's clear waters.
The return to Puerto Escondido hotels is scheduled for around 1 pm.
