Horse Riding in San José Manialtepec

At the scheduled time, a minibus will collect you from your hotel in Puerto Escondido and transport you to the San José Manialtepec community, a journey that lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Upon our arrival, the saddled horses will be ready for us to mount, kicking off our thrilling adventure across the stunning landscapes of San José Manialtepec.

Sitting atop our majestic companions, we will venture deep into the lush jungle, navigating up to four crossings along the enchanting Maíz River. This exciting route showcases the area's breathtaking rural scenery and allows us to identify unique flora including the ceiba, revered as a sacred tree by numerous pre-Hispanic civilizations.

As we traverse the jungle, we will reach the shores of the coastal Manialtepec lagoon, where we will board canoes for a paddle across to the opposite side. Be sure to glance behind you! The sight of the horses gracefully swimming across the lagoon will surely be unforgettable.

Upon crossing the waterway, we will arrive at Puerto Suelo Beach, where welcoming locals will greet us and offer the comforting experience of a bonfire paired with delicious chocolate - an ideal way to recharge after our escapades!

Following our break, we will mount our horses once more and retrace our steps back to where we began the journey. From there, you will be returned to your hotel in Puerto Escondido, concluding our day approximately seven hours after our initial pickup.
