San José Manialtepec Horse Riding

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Escondido and set off for the community of San José Manialtepec by minibus. The journey will take 30 minutes.

The saddled horses will be waiting for us upon arrival, allowing us to start our adventure through the extraordinary spots in San José Manialtepec.

On horseback, we'll head deep into the jungle and cross up to four different points along the Maíz River, exploring its rural landscapes and unique plant life, including the sacred ceiba tree.

After crossing the jungle, we'll reach one of the coastal Manialtepec lagoon's banks to board canoes and paddle across. Look back to see the horses swimming behind us as we cross the lagoon.

Upon canoeing across, we'll arrive at Puerto Suelo Beach, where locals will welcome us with a bonfire and some chocolates to recharge after our activities.

We'll then remount the horses for the return trip to our starting point, after which we will take you back to your hotel in Puerto Escondido, returning around 7 hours after the initial pickup.
