San José Manialtepec Horse Riding

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Escondido and set off for the community of San José Manialtepec by minibus. The journey takes about 30 minutes.

The saddled horses will be waiting for us upon arrival, allowing us to start our adventure through notable spots in San José Manialtepec.

While riding, we'll venture deep into the jungle and navigate up to four crossings along the Maíz River. This experience offers a view of beautiful rural landscapes and unique plants like the ceiba, which is considered sacred by various pre-Hispanic cultures.

After the jungle, we’ll reach one of the coastal Manialtepec lagoon's banks to board canoes and paddle across. Don’t miss the sight of the horses swimming behind us during the lagoon crossing.

Upon reaching Puerto Suelo Beach, locals will greet us with a bonfire and some tasty chocolates, a great way to recharge after our activities.

We’ll then remount our horses to return to the starting point of our route, followed by transport back to your hotel in Puerto Escondido, approximately 7 hours after initial pickup.
