San José Manialtepec Horse Riding

At the indicated time, hotel pickup will be arranged from Puerto Escondido for a 30-minute minibus journey to the community of San José Manialtepec.

Upon arrival, saddled horses will be waiting for the adventure through the extraordinary spots of San José Manialtepec.

Riding into the jungle, we will make up to four crossings along the Maíz River, exploring rural landscapes and unique plants like the ceiba, considered sacred by pre-Hispanic cultures.

After jungle riding, we will reach a bank of the coastal Manialtepec lagoon, where we'll board canoes to paddle across. Don't miss the sight of the horses swimming behind us during this crossing.

Upon canoeing to Puerto Suelo Beach, friendly locals will offer a bonfire and delicious chocolates, providing energy for the return journey.

We'll then remount the horses to return to the starting point and take you back to your hotel in Puerto Escondido, with an estimated return time of around 7 hours after the initial pickup.
