Turtle Release Experience

After your pickup, we will head to Colotepec, a municipality located just 25 minutes from Puerto Escondido. The journey takes you through picturesque landscapes filled with papaya and banana plantations.

The tour will begin at the turtle protection centre, which is dedicated to one of the most endangered marine species. Four types of turtles nest on the Oaxaca coast: the Leatherback, Olive Ridley, Galápagos Green, and Hawksbill. Here, you will learn about the essential work being done to protect these species and actively participate in releasing the newly hatched turtles into the sea!

Your day will culminate with a beautiful sunset over Colotepec Beach. After this memorable experience, we will return to the hotels in Puerto Escondido.

HOW IT WORKS?

You will participate in a guided experience focused on the conservation of turtles. Upon pickup, travel to Colotepec, where you will engage with the turtle protection efforts and contribute to the release of hatchlings. The program includes transportation, entrance to the protection centre, educational information about turtle conservation, and the memorable experience of releasing turtles into the ocean.
