Discover Peru's Austro-German heritage with this 2-day tour of Oxampampa and Pozuzo, notable 19th-century colonies.

Oxapampa + Pozuzo 2 Day Tour

This tour offers the chance to explore two of Peru's prominent Austro-German settlements from the 19th century.

Day 1: Oxapampa

Pickup will be at 8 am from your hotel in San Ramón, followed by departure for Oxampampa. First, a stop will be made at the Mezapata viewpoint for views of the Paucartambo canyon. Then, a stop will occur at a handmade mill before arriving at Chontabamba to visit its wooden church built by settlers.

Next, the itinerary includes a visit to Tunqui Cueva and a dairy factory for product tasting. In the afternoon, a guided tour in Oxapampa will cover key sites: Plaza de Armas, Colonists' promenade, and the church of Santa Rosa. Overnight accommodation will be in Oxapampa.

Day 2: Pozuzo

After breakfast at the hotel, the group will journey through Yanachanga Chemillen National Park, seeing waterfalls from the vehicle. Arrival in Pozuzo, the first Austro-German colony in Peru, will include a tour of its wooden churches and key sites like the bridge of Emperor Wilhelm I and the Schafferer Museum.
