Oxapampa + Pozuzo 2 Day Tour
This tour offers insights into Peru's Austro-German heritage across Oxampampa and Pozuzo.
Day 1: Oxapampa
Pick-up at 8 am from your hotel in San Ramón. Depart for Oxampampa, stopping at the Mezapata viewpoint to view the Paucartambo canyon. Visit a handmade mill before heading to Chontabamba to see its wooden church. Afterward, visit Tunqui Cueva and participate in a product tasting at a dairy factory.
In Oxapampa, enjoy a guided tour of the Plaza de Armas, Colonists' promenade, and the church of Santa Rosa. Overnight in Oxapampa.
Day 2: Pozuzo
After breakfast, drive through Yanachanga Chemillen National Park to see waterfalls from the vehicle. Arrive in Pozuzo, the first Austro-German colony established in the mid-19th century. Tour its wooden churches, the bridge of Emperor Wilhelm I, and the Schafferer Museum, highlighting the history of European immigrants.
View the monument to Father Joseph Egg, then conclude the tour with a panoramic view of the Oxapampa landscape before returning to San Ramón, arriving in the evening.
