The Pampa Train in Sant'Ana do Livramento

The newest attraction in Sant'Ana do Livramento is the Pampa Train, which captivates all who embark on this adventure. This train features two cars named Cabernet and Tannat, honoring local grape varieties, and it covers a distance of 12 miles (20 kilometers) through the picturesque Campanha Caúcha region. With a seating capacity for 100 passengers, the train offers comfort along with panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscapes. The beauty of the Rio Grande do Sul Pampa awaits!

Activity Itinerary

Depending on your chosen time, you may start with the Pampa Train ride followed by a trip to Almadén Winery, or the other way around. The initial gathering point for both alternatives is the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station. Here’s a breakdown of the itinerary:

Commencing with the Pampa Train ride: We will meet at the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station to board the train, making a stop at the Palomas Train Station. From there, a bus will take us to the Almadén Winery. After our visit, we will return via bus to the initial meeting location.Commencing with the Almadén Winery visit: Starting again at the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station, we'll board a minibus to take us to the winery. Following this experience, we will return to the Palomas Train Station to board the Pampa Train, concluding our journey back at the meeting point.

Train Journey

Step aboard the Pampa Train and soak in the breathtaking scenery! During this 12-mile (20-kilometer) ride, you will be treated to traditional musical performances by gauchos with guitars, which embody the vibrant culture of southern Brazil.

To cap off your experience, a tasting of red wine, white wine, and must (young wine) will be served at your seat, where tables feature special glass holders for your convenience.

Visit to Almadén Winery

The Almadén Winery ranks among the most esteemed wineries within the Campanha Gaúcha, located near the Uruguayan border. Here, you can explore the vineyards, relax on a balcony with stunning views, and visit a small interactive museum that narrates the winery's history.

During the experience, you will gain insights into the winemaking process and partake in a tasting session. The winery also features a canteen and a store where exotic wines and souvenirs are available for purchase, making it hard to resist taking something home!
