The Monastery of Sant Cugat features a significant Romanesque cloister in Barcelona. The ticket provides access to the monument alongside an audio guide with two thematic tours.
Why visit the Monastery of Sant Cugat?
Located in the historic center of Sant Cugat del Vallès, the Monastery of Sant Cugat exemplifies medieval art in Catalonia, dating back to the 9th century. The entrance ticket allows visitors to explore the monastic complex freely, with an audio guide in English available for personal devices.
The audio guide features two tours. The first, titled "Feel the voice of the monastery", covers the history of a key Benedictine abbey and includes access to the monastery church, showcasing the blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles. The second tour, "The book of medieval stone", grants access to the monastery's renowned Romanesque cloister, where visitors can examine 31 capitals that illustrate the lifestyle of Benedictine monks and Biblical narratives.
