Go on a journey through more than a thousand years of history with this medieval tour of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery. You'll learn fascinating details about this monastic complex through an audio guide in English and a series of screenings.
Description
We'll meet you in the reception of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery to provide your audio guide for the tour. The route covers over a thousand years of history, beginning with the origins of this monastery dedicated to Saint Benedict.
Built around 950, the monastery was abandoned and remained in ruins until its restoration in the 20th century by the painter Ramon Casas and architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.
With your audio guide, you'll explore the monks' cells, the cellar, and the impressive cloister, featuring original capitals on all columns.
You will also visit the church of the Benedictine monastery, learning about medieval monastic life through a series of audiovisual screenings. The visit lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
