Explore some of the most extraordinary corners of the Azores on a hiking tour of the island of Flores. Viewpoints, cliffs, hidden waterfalls and many surprises await!

Routes

At the time of booking, you'll have the choice between five different hiking routes. All routes last four hours, start at 9:00 am and include hotel pickup & return transfer, minibus transportation, and an English-speaking guide.

Four Lakes

This route involves an 8-kilometer walk starting between the Caldeira Negra and Comprida lagoons, two volcanic lakes. You will also see the Seca and Branca lagoons. Species like camellias, lilies, prickly pears, and oleanders are present along the way. It finishes at Fajã Grande and Poço de Bacalhau, where swimming is possible.

Lajedo & Poço Ribeira do Ferreiro

Starting in the village of Lajedo next to the parish church, this 7.8-kilometer path leads through green meadows. Your guide will share historical facts, including the RMS Slavonia shipwreck. The route includes a visit to Poço Ribeira do Ferreiro, known for its waterfalls.

Ponta Ruiva & Ponta Delgada

This hike starts from Ponta Ruiva along the coastline for 8.5 kilometers, offering views of steep cliffs and the island of Corvo. The hike concludes at Ponta Delgada, including a visit to the Chapel of São João Baptista.

Ponta Delgada & Fajã Grande

Leaving from Ponta Delgada, this route explores green valleys and viewpoints offering sights of Albarnaz Lighthouse, the island of Corvo, and the islet of Monchique. The walk covers a total of 7.5 kilometers before reaching Fajã Grande.

Ponta Ruiva & Santa Cruz de las Flores

This option starts at Ponta Ruiva, heading to Alagoa bay and showcasing rock formations. The 8-kilometer route crosses various crop fields, concluding at Santa Cruz de las Flores, in the north of the island.
