On this tour of the lagoons on Flores Island, you'll discover why this spot on the Azores is included in the Biosphere Reserves and visit the town of Lajes.

Flores Island Lagoons & Lajes Tour

At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start our tour of the lagoons on Flores Island.

Our first stop will be the Reserva Natural do Morro Alto e Pico da Se, featuring seven volcanic lagoons, including Branca, Funda, Comprida, and Seca.

On the trails of these lakes, we will encounter forests of laurels, cedars, hydrangeas, and lilies. The natural reserve also offers lookout points for views from above.

We'll continue to Rocha dos Bordões, a large basaltic rock formation, making two stops at the viewpoints of Portal and Craveiro Lopes. Next, we'll head to the village of Lajes to visit an old whaling factory and learn about the importance of whaling on this island.

Subsequently, we'll visit the church of Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, which houses a polychrome Renaissance altarpiece in the presbytery. On the way out, we'll stop at the Lajedo lookout point for a view of the Atlantic and the colossal rock of Rocha dos Frades.

After four hours of touring the island, we'll drop you off back at your hotel, concluding the activity.
