Explore the highest peaks of La Palma & get to know the beautiful landscapes of Caldera de Taburiente National Park on this hiking route to Roque de los Muchachos.
Roque de los Muchachos Hike
At the scheduled time, we will collect you from the chosen meeting point and board a bus to Roque de los Muchachos, the highest point of the island. We will begin our hiking route through the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. The trail runs along the crater's edge, showcasing various astronomical observatories and the blanket of clouds covering the northern part of the island, providing great photographic opportunities.
During the tour, we will encounter different vegetation including cedars, laburnum, broom, pansies, and tajinastes. The hiking path features a basalt stone wall known as Roberto's Wall, associated with a unique legend.
The route is approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) long and leads us to Pico de la Cruz, the closest point to Roque de los Muchachos. We will stop to appreciate the landscape and, weather permitting, enjoy panoramic views of El Hierro, La Gomera, and Tenerife. At the end of the tour, we will return to the starting point after 4 to 5 hours together.
