Explore the enchanting heart of Santa Cruz de La Palma on a captivating free tour through the historic centre of this picturesque capital of the Isla Bonita.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll start this free tour of Santa Cruz de La Palma at the crossroads between Calle Anselmo Pérez de Brito and Plaza Vandale. The tour begins with the monument dedicated to the musicians of The Divines. Next, we will walk down Calle Real and Calle O'Daly, named after a notable Irish settler.
We will visit the El Salvador Church to see flamenco tapestries from the 16th century. Following this, at Plaza de España, we will admire the façade of the City Hall, the first to be constituted democratically and by popular suffrage.
Continuing along Calle Anselmo Pérez de Brito, we will view the typical Canarian balconies. We will then stop at Cruz del Tercero, commemorating the island's conquest.
Next, we will visit Plaza de la Alameda to see the Monumento al Enano, referencing one of La Palma's popular celebrations, and a reproduction of a galleon, known as Barco de la Virgen, which houses the Naval Museum.
Finally, we will conclude the tour at Santa Catalina de Alejandría Castle, a significant fort in La Palma, after 2 hours together.
