On this free tour of Santa Cruz de La Palma, we'll visit the historic centre of the capital of Isla Bonita, the northwesternmost island of the Canary Islands.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll start this free tour of Santa Cruz de La Palma at the crossroads between Calle Anselmo Pérez de Brito and Plaza Vandale.

The tour begins with the monument dedicated to the musicians of The Divines, followed by a stroll down Calle Real and Calle O'Daly, named after a prominent Irish settler.

We'll enter the El Salvador Church, home to 16th-century flamenco tapestries. Our next stop will be Plaza de España to admire the façade of the City Hall, the first city hall formed democratically.

Continuing along Calle Anselmo Pérez de Brito, we will observe the typical Canarian balconies. We will then visit the Cruz del Tercero, a monument commemorating the island's conquest.

At Plaza de la Alameda, we will see the Monumento al Enano, linked to a popular celebration in La Palma, and the Barco de la Virgen, a reproduction of a galleon that houses the Naval Museum.

Finally, we will conclude in front of Santa Catalina de Alejandría Castle, a significant fortification. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
