Tajogaite Volcano Day Trip

Want to learn more about the last eruption in La Palma? On this Tajogaite volcano day trip, we'll visit various viewpoints on an incredible hike around Cumbre Vieja to see this volcanic cone, created in 2021, up close.

Itinerary

At the indicated time, pickup will be from your selected meeting point to head to the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park. The hike will start at Llano del Jable to explore the Tajogaite Volcano.

The Tajogaite eruption in September 2021 lasted 85 days, impacting the island significantly. As we hike, we will reflect on the eruption and its effects on the region.

The total route is 5 kilometres (3 miles) , taking approximately 3 hours to reach the best viewpoints of the Tajogaite crater. Photo opportunities will be available.

After the hike, we will take a bus to the port of Tazacorte, passing through newly built roads. An hour of free time will be provided for lunch and to view where the magma reached the sea.

Before concluding, we will visit Tajuya Square and the Tacande viewpoint for more views of the new volcano.

After 8 hours of activities, we will return you to the starting point.
