What is the Palmetum?

Located south of Santa Cruz de Tenerife's port, the Palmetum spans nearly 30 acres (12 hectares) on a former landfill site. It features a park with ocean views and a substantial collection of flora, particularly palms and island plants.

What will I find at the Palmetum?

The Palmetum houses the largest collection of palms in Europe, with over 500 species. The garden is organized into various biogeographic zones showcasing flora from the Caribbean, Hawaii, Melanesia, Australia, Madagascar, and the Canary Islands. Additionally, there are around 2000 different plant species from tropical and subtropical climates, along with landscaped areas featuring streams, lakes, and waterfalls.
