Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Maceió to begin our day trip to explore Quilombo dos Palmares, one of the biggest and most emblematic quilombos in Brazil.
Founded in the 17th century, this area was a refuge for enslaved people who escaped, becoming a symbol of resistance in the fight for freedom. Prepare to learn about this historical moment.
We'll start our journey by road, and upon arrival, we'll go on a guided tour of the Sierra da Barriga, a mountain with considerable cultural significance. We'll explore the history of the community, its leaders, and their resistance against enslavement.
Following the tour, we'll have lunch at Baobá restaurant, featuring Afro-Indigenous cuisine with unique ingredients and spices, including local dishes such as moqueca.
After lunch, we'll return to Maceió, which will take approximately 2 hours. Our day trip will conclude at your hotel after a total of 12 hours.
