Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Maceió to begin our day trip to explore Quilombo dos Palmares, one of the largest and most significant quilombos in Brazil.
Founded in the 17th century, this area was a refuge for enslaved people who escaped, symbolizing resistance in the fight for freedom. The journey will include a guided tour of the Sierra da Barriga, where we will learn about the community’s history, leaders, and their resistance against enslavement.
After the visit, we'll have lunch at Baobá restaurant, which serves Afro-Indigenous cuisine featuring local dishes like moqueca.
Following lunch, we'll return to Maceió, with an approximate travel time of 2 hours, concluding the day trip at your hotel after a total of 12 hours.
