São Francisco River Delta Day Trip

If you're in Maceió, you can't miss the chance to see a unique riverbed on this day trip to the São Francisco River. We'll also visit Piaçabuçu and its dunes.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Maceió to begin our 2-hour journey to the mouth of the São Francisco River. Let's go!

Once we've hopped on the bus, we'll travel 110 kilometres (68 miles) until we reach our first stop, the municipality of Piaçabuçu. Here, we'll have the chance to immerse ourselves in the city's culture, closely linked to the riverbed.

We'll take the opportunity to visit the Maraná restaurant, where you can sample some typical delicacies of this seaside village at your leisure, before embarking on the main activity of the day.

Having re-energised in Piaçabuçu, we'll set off to explore the mouth of the São Francisco River. We'll board a boat that will take us along Velho Chico. We'll spend 3 hours on this picturesque voyage until we reach the imposing dunes. On one shore, we'll see Alagoas, and on the other Sergipe, as we will be right on the border between these two states.

Amidst the views of the jungle and the locals going about their daily lives, we'll relax while watching the river and the ocean merge into one. Will you be able to spot the abandoned lighthouse on an old island? Keep your eyes peeled!

After this boat trip along the São Francisco River, we'll return to Piaçabuçu, where we'll hop off the boat and onto the transport that will take us back to our starting point in Maceió. The activity will come to an end 10 hours after pickup.
