Cerro Islá Food Tour
On this food tour of Cerro Islá, we will explore the flavors and traditions of Oaxaca through a sensory experience.
We will pick you up at 9 am at your hotel in Bahías de Huatulco and proceed to Cerro Islá, where we will discover the history and gastronomy of Oaxaca. After a 45-minute drive, we will arrive in Santa María Huatulco, where we'll visit the local church, known for housing the remains of the venerated cross of Huatulco, and the Municipal Palace, noted for its colorful murals.
Following our tour in Santa María Huatulco, we will head to Benito Juárez to enjoy some corn tostaditas before starting a 3-hour hike through the surrounding nature. The hike will include observations of regional fruit trees and coffee and cacao farms. We will pause along the trail for coffee and local sweet breads.
The path will allow us to observe various regional trees and fruits, with a lunch al fresco at the end. The menu consists of roasted tasajo, cecina enchilada, chorizo, roasted nopales, beans, pasta, guacamole, handmade tortillas, and varied chili sauces, along with coffee and fruit-flavored waters.
After lunch, we will return to the trailhead and head back to Bahías de Huatulco, with arrival at your hotel scheduled for 4 pm.
