Jesuit Block and Estancias of Cordoba Tour
We'll collect you from your hotel in Cordoba at 9 am to start our tour of the emblematic Society of Jesus buildings. The Jesuit Block and Estancias of Cordoba are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour reveals their cultural value and relation to Argentine history.
Our first stop will be the city of Colonia Caroya to visit the Estancia Caroya Museum, which housed the monks in the 17th century. This was the first estancia of the Jesuits in the area.
Next, we’ll proceed to the Jesús María Estancia, home to the Jesuit Estancia de San Isidro el Labrador. This stone building provides insights into the history of its religious inhabitants, along with the mills and land used for winemaking.
We'll travel for another 30 minutes to reach the Santa Catalina Estancia, founded in 1622. Here, we will learn about the Society of Jesus' lifestyle and see a Baroque-style historical church.
After some free time for lunch, we’ll return to Cordoba, passing through towns such as Ascochinga, La Granja, or Villa Animi, and drop you off at your hotels by around 7 pm.
