Cienaga Stilt Housing Day Trip

At 5:30 am, pick-up from your hotel will commence, followed by a trip to the dock of Islas del Rosario. A boat ride through the Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta, a World Biosphere Reserve, will then take place.

Participants will admire the varied vegetation and wildlife, exploring trails of greenery and lagoons in the swamp. Along these routes, small fishing villages known as ''pueblitos palafitos'' (stilt housing villages) will be visible.

Our tour will stop in one of these villages to learn about the lifestyle and ancestral customs of its inhabitants. A traditional meal based on fish or vegetables will follow, offering a taste of the local cuisine. The return journey to Santa Marta is scheduled to be completed by 2:30 pm.
