Our adventure begins in the heart of Santa Marta, heading towards the village of Mamey, where we’ll enjoy a light lunch to fuel our energy. Following lunch, the first hiking route awaits us. This three-hour trek spans approximately 8 kilometres (5.5 miles) and offers breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Upon reaching the Cabaña de Adán, we’ll replenish our energy with a delicious dinner and settle in for the night, preparing for the adventures to come.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast at our camp, we embark on our second hiking route. This segment covers 14 kilometres (8.6 miles) and will last around eight hours. On our journey, we will visit the indigenous village of Muntanyi, where local inhabitants will share their customs and traditions. Following this visit, we’ll partake in a traditional lunch before continuing along our path.
We will conclude the day at the Cabaña de Romualdo, where we can savor a hearty dinner and rest overnight.
Day 3
After fueling up with breakfast, we’ll commence a three-hour hike covering another 8 kilometres (5.5 miles). The effort will be worth it as we reach the Lost City, where we can explore its archaeological remnants and immerse ourselves in the lifestyle of the Tayrona people, who thrived here between 800 and 1600 AD.
Following a relaxing lunch, we’ll embark on a new hiking segment through the lush landscape along the Buritaca River. The day will wrap up at the Cabaña de Gabriel, where dinner and rest await us before the final leg of our journey.
