Taironaka Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning for a 1-hour journey to the Don Diego River. From there, a 15-minute walk will lead us to the Taironaka Archaeological Park, where we will explore the remains of the ancient city of Tayrona.

During the trip, we will explore the archaeological remains of the Tairona people, including terraces and staircases that reflect their way of life from the 8th century. We will pause to discuss these elements as we walk along the stone paths.

Additionally, we will visit the museum to view original pieces of pottery. In Taironaka Park, we may meet the Kogis, descendants of the Tairona, depending on the weather. You will have free time to swim in the Don Diego River.

While in Taironaka Park, a typical lunch will be provided, consisting of churrasco (grilled beef), salad, and potatoes or rice with shrimp and tostones.

After lunch, we will return to Santa Marta and drop you off at your accommodation.
