Embark on a fascinating day trip into the Brazilian Amazon, leaving Alter do Chão behind for the memorable Amorim Cove Tour. This journey offers a unique opportunity to discover a vibrant ecosystem and appreciate the diverse flora and fauna of the Amorim River area.

Amorim Cove Tour

Your adventure begins at 9 am with a meeting at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. After gathering, we'll take a short walk to board a boat that will navigate the Tapajós River. Once aboard, our expedition into the heart of the Brazilian Amazon will commence, leading us towards the scenic Amorim Cove.

As we cruise along, the boat will glide past notable sites such as Mureta and Jurucuru Lakes, and Pindobal Beach. We will make stops at Cajutuba Beach and the striking Santo Domingo dunes for some memorable photographs of the stunning landscapes. Additionally, we’ll pause at Jamaraquá to indulge in a refreshing assortment of pineapple, watermelon, banana, apple, and coconut.

Once we've savored the local fruits, we'll navigate the final section of the Tapajós River to the Amorim region. From there, our journey continues to Cabeceira do Amorim, where we’ll transfer to a smaller boat designed for navigating the canals and low waters.

As we embark on this traditional vessel, expect to witness the mesmerizing Igapos, the flooded forests of Amorim Cove, alongside its rich greenery and abundant wildlife. Around 1 pm, a typical meal will be served, followed by insights into the local culture and their way of life.

Our adventure then leads us back to Cabeceira do Amorim, where we will reboard our original boat for the return trip to Alter do Chão. We anticipate arriving back around 7 pm.
