Amorim Cove Tour

Leave Alter do Chão for the day and venture into the Brazilian Amazon on our Amorim Cove Tour, learning about the ecosystem in the Amorim River inlet and its biodiversity.

Amorim Cove Tour

At 9 am, we meet at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão, then walk to the boat for the tour along the Tapajós River to Amorim Cove. During the trip, we will pass by Mureta, Jurucuru Lakes, and Pindobal Beach, making stops at Cajutuba Beach and Santo Domingo dunes for photos. We will have a break in Jamaraquá to enjoy a selection of fruits: pineapple, watermelon, banana, apple, and coconut.

Afterward, we cross to the Amorim region, heading to Cabeceira do Amorim, where we switch to a smaller boat to navigate canals due to low water levels. Onboard the traditional boat, we will observe the Igapos or flooded forests, greenery, and wildlife. Around 1 pm, we will have a typical dish and learn about the locals' way of life.

Following our visit, we will return to Cabeceira do Amorim, reboard the boat, and make our way back to Alter do Chão, arriving by 7 pm.

The boat has four different spaces, with equipment for kayaking and paddle surfing, barbecue facilities, and music on board.
