Arapiuns River 5-Day Tour

Day 1

At 9 am, pick-up at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão and board a boat to explore the Arapiuns River. We will pass by Piranhas Lake and Ponta do Cururu to reach the Urucurea Indigenous community. Here, learn about their lifestyle and optionally watch a crafts demonstration. You can choose between hiking or a canoe tour, followed by lunch at a local home. Later, relax in a hammock and enjoy a sunset at Ponta do Toronó and Grande Lake.

Day 2

Spend the morning snorkeling and relaxing. Then, board a boat to the Coroca community to learn about their ecotourism project, turtle breeding, and beekeeping. Enjoy lunch with locals before heading to Aruã, stopping briefly at São Pedro and São José. Camp on Mount Sião and sleep under the stars.

Day 3

Take a boat trip to the Aruã Waterfall, exploring its trails and local cuisine. You can jump into the waterfall and camp by a fire near the waterfall.

Day 4

Leave Aruã for Ponta do Papagaio Beach for lunch, then visit São Francisco for a swim. Head to Ponta Grande, enjoy a sunset, and have a bonfire to cook fish. You can choose to camp on the beach or sleep on the boat.

Day 5

On the last day, explore the area in the morning. At midday, we will visit Punta de Icuxi for local gastronomy. Cross the Tapajós River to Ponta do Cururu for a sunset before returning to Alter do Chão around 7 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes 4 nights' accommodation on the boat with meals provided. Boats can accommodate 20 to 70 people, with cabins offering double or single beds based on availability. Activities like kayaking and paddle surfing are available, along with barbecue and music in common areas.
