Arapiuns River Communities Tour

Meet at 9 am at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. Depart to the Arapiuns River by boat. Pass by Ponta do Cururu, Pirañas Lake, and Tapajós River en route to the village of Urucurea. Observe local Indigenous communities and their picturesque church. Option to explore independently or watch a crafts demonstration. Choose from a hiking route along the creek, a wooden canoe ride, or a visit to Amazonian beaches.

Enjoy fresh fish, wild chicken, and other dishes for lunch. Relax in a hammock before proceeding to Ponta do Torono and Lago Grande for birdwatching. Return to Alter do Chão at around 7 pm.

2-day tour

The 2-day tour includes a visit to Torono and Ponta Grande Beach for sunset views, followed by a beach bonfire and fish grilling. Overnight stay in a cabin on the boat with double occupancy and private bathroom. An alternative cabin option in the Vista Alegre community is available but not included in the tour price.

On the second day, visit the riverside community of Coroca to learn about tropical turtles, bees, and ecotourism. Enjoy a typical lunch featuring fish and chicken, followed by a visit to Ucuxi Beach and another sunset at Ponta do Cururu.

Accommodation

The 2-day tour includes 1 night's accommodation on the boat in double cabins with a private bathroom. An alternative cabin option in the Vista Alegre community is available but not included in the tour price.
