Explore a unique environment full of extraordinary animals and plants on our Jari Canal Tour. We'll leave Alter do Chão and venture into a nature reserve in the Amazon Rainforest.

Jari Canal Tour

Join us at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão at 9 am. We will board the boat and set off for the Jari Canal nature reserve. Our journey includes sailing across Verde Lake to the Enchanted Forest, accessible via a 40-minute canoe ride. Next, we stop at Ilha do Amor (Love Island) and admire Morro da Piraoca, followed by a passage through Piranhas Lake. Be cautious, as piranhas can bite. You will have the opportunity to swim at Ponta do Cururu.

Upon reaching Moça Beach, we will enjoy fresh fruit as a snack before traveling to Crocodile Lake. You will then have a 1-hour break for lunch at Ponta de Pedras. After lunch, we will arrive at Jari Canal, where you can observe giant Victoria Amazonica, iguanas, and dozens of parrots, and keep an eye out for alligators. Our return to Alter do Chão will include a sunset view, and we aim to return by 7 pm.

The boat

The boat features four different spaces, and all necessary equipment for kayaking and paddleboarding will be provided. There will also be a barbecue and music on board.
