Get a close-up look at the spectacular spot where the Amazon and Tapajós Rivers meet on our Santarém Rivers Tour. We'll leave Alter do Chão behind for the day and admire breathtaking views.

Santarém Rivers Tour

Meeting at 9 am at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão, we'll board a boat bound for Santarém to witness the exact point where the Amazon and Tapajós Rivers meet.

During the trip, we will pass by Lake Verde and the Enchanted Forest, where a 40-minute canoe trip is available, as well as Piranha Lake. A stop at Moça Beach will provide fresh fruit for cooling off. We will then proceed to Crocodile Lake to look for otters, alligators, and turtles.

At approximately 1 pm, we will arrive at Ponta de Pedras for lunch, featuring fish, meat, and local side dishes. Following lunch, we will visit the Tapari and Negro Lakes, natural wonders of the Amazon in the Santarém region.

We will then reach the meeting point of the Amazon and Tapajós Rivers, allowing you to jump into the water and experience the temperature difference. You may also spot the friendly pink Amazon River dolphin. After swimming, we will explore Santarém with a 1-hour tour of its history. Finally, we will return to Alter do Chão, enjoying the sunset at Ponta do Cururu.
