Venture into the Brazilian rainforest and discover the animals that inhabit it on our 1 or 2-day Tapajós National Forest Tour. Immerse yourself in a natural environment while exploring lakes and beaches.

Tapajós National Forest Tour

The tour begins at 9 am at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. We will board a boat and explore Tapajós National Forest. First, we will visit Jacundá and Mureta Lakes for photo opportunities, followed by a stop at Pindobal Beach to learn about the history of rubber in the Amazon. We will continue to Cajutuba beaches for a swim and then to the dunes of Maguari.

Next, we will reach Jamaraquá, where you can spot sloths, alligators, and ancient trees. In this area, we will enjoy fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, and passion fruit. We will also engage with locals to learn about Indigenous artwork. A hike to view the Samauma tree will be available. A lunch featuring fish and chicken will be served, followed by relaxation in a hammock and a sunset canoe ride before returning to Alter do Chão by 7 pm.

2-day tour

This tour includes camping in the Amazon Rainforest after sunset. We will have a campfire dinner featuring a traditional piracaia dish and spend the night under the stars or on the boat. The following day, we will enjoy lunch and a dip at Pindobal Beach before heading back to Alter do Chão.

Accommodation

On the 2-day tour, accommodation includes one night on the boat in double cabins with a private bathroom. An optional cabin stay in the Vista Alegre community is available, but not included in the tour price.
