Tapajós National Forest Tour

Meet at 9 am at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão and board the boat to explore the Tapajós National Forest. Begin with a pass by Jacundá and Mureta Lakes for photo opportunities, then pause at Pindobal Beach to learn about rubber history. Next, visit the beaches of Cajutuba for a swim before heading to the dunes of Maguari.

Continue to Jamaraquá to spot sloths, alligators, and hundred-year-old trees. Enjoy a selection of fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, and passion fruit. Learn about local artwork from Indigenous communities and optionally hike to see the Samauma tree.

A lunch featuring fish, chicken, and other items will be provided. Post-meal, relax in a hammock and enjoy a sunset canoe ride before returning to Alter do Chão by 7 pm.

2-day tour

This camping tour in the heart of the Amazon includes a sunset view and traditional piracaia dinner by a campfire. Options include sleeping under the stars, on the boat, or in a typical hut.

The following day offers a tasty lunch and one last swim at Pindobal Beach before returning to Alter do Chão.

Accommodation

On the 2-day tour, 1 night's accommodation on the boat in double cabins with a private bathroom is included. Alternatively, you can stay in a cabin in the Vista Alegre community, which incurs an additional cost.
