Tapajós River 5-Day Tour

Day 1

Pickup at 9 am from the tourist information centre in Alter do Chão. We will travel along the southern Tapajós River, passing by Muretá Beach, Jurucuri Lake, Pindobal Beach, Cajutuba Beach, Aramanaí, Santo Domingo, and Maguari.

Stop in the community of Jamaraquá for fruit and a village visit. Option for a 4-mile hike (7-kilometre) to see the Samaúma tree. Lunch of fish and chicken follows, with an afternoon free for exploration. Conclude the day with a canoe trip to view the sunset. Overnight on the beach or boat.

Day 2

Morning wake-up in the Amazon Rainforest. Set sail along the Tapajós riverbank with swimming stops to appreciate Brazil's flora. Reach Refúgio dos Sonhos for a bonfire and local stories.

Day 3

Morning free to explore the lodge, orchards, beaches, and trails. Lunch at the lodge before boarding the boat to Fordlandia. Dinner and overnight on the boats.

Day 4

Tour of the abandoned town of Fordlandia, observing the water supply tank, shed, machinery, and Ford Motor Company trucks. Explore the remnants of this historical site throughout the day.

Day 5

Return to Alter do Chão by boat, with stops for swimming. After lunch, enjoy a final sunset on the Tapajós River. Scheduled arrival back in Alter do Chão is at 7 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes 4 nights' accommodation on the boat with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The boats accommodate either 20 or 70 people, with cabins featuring double or single beds based on availability. Kayaking and paddle surfing equipment is available, along with barbecue and music system access. The boat consists of four different spaces.
