Tapajós River Communities Tour

At 9 am, we'll meet at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. We'll board our boat and set sail on the Tapajós River to the Anuma river community.

Upon arrival, we'll take a tractor to the Active Forestry Experimental Centre, where we will learn about animal breeding and the use of biological fertilisers and rainwater for organic farming.

At 1 pm, we'll have lunch consisting of chicken or fresh fish. After lunch, we'll relax in a hammock while enjoying views of the Brazilian Amazon.

Next, we'll hike to the hydroelectric dam, where you'll have the opportunity to take a dip before returning to Alter do Chão at 7 pm.

2-day Tour

On the 2-day tour, after Anuma, we'll go to the Vista Alegre community. You can choose to get there by a 6-mile (10-kilometre) trail or a boat trip through the mangroves.

Locals will welcome you and share their customs. You'll enjoy dinner and learn about their fire ritual.

After breakfast, we'll hike to explore the surrounding area. Lunch will be a typical dish, followed by interactions with the riverside community. Before returning to Alter do Chão, we'll admire an enchanting sunset on Muretá Beach.

What's the boat like?

You'll sail aboard a boat with four different spaces, equipped for kayaking and paddle surfing, with a barbecue and music on board.
